We are seeking undergraduate RAs to assist us in screening, recruiting, and communicating with subject participants in lab experiments; setting up and running experiment sessions; coding data; providing feedback on research ideas; as well as other tasks as needed around the lab. The lab also holds practicum/workshops to teach undergraduate RAs specific skills in experimental design and analysis of experimental data including how to use the physiological equipment. We accept undergraduates from all disciplines to support our diverse pool of investigators.

  • Ability to devote 8-10 hours per week at the lab
  • Attendance at practicum (normally 1 hour every two weeks)
  • Introductory course in economics and/or psychology

Summer Program

HDSL is part of Harvard's Behavioral Laboratory in the Social Sciences (BLISS) initiative. BLISS provides undergraduates in Harvard College with an opportunity for sustained engagement with experimental science in the context of a residential program during the summer term. BLISS fellows working at HDSL typically work alongside faculty researchers in the conduct of studies coming into the lab. With appropriate faculty supervision, BLISS Fellows may also design and run their own studies in the lab - a particular benefit for rising seniors contemplating writing a thesis.

Institute for Quantitative Social Science Undergraduate Research Scholars Program

Harvard's Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS) has an Undergraduate Research Scholars Program affiliated with our lab.
